Fly to Baku 02.11.2012 - 17.11.2012

The 'Fly to Baku' exhibition organised by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Berlin in cooperation with the Azerbaijani Embassy in Germany and Baku magazine was opened by the Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva on November 2, 2012. The exhibition was conducted in one of Berlin's famous galleries 'me Collectors Room' and reflected Azerbaijan's contemporary art exhibition. It caused a great resonance among Berliners and art lovers. Curator of the exhibition, Herve Mikaeloff, and president of the Liszt School of Music Weimar, Christoph Stolzl, said Fly to Baku exhibition had greatly contributed to promoting Azerbaijan's rich cultural legacy. Udo Steinbach, Director of the Governance Center Middle East and North Africa, praised the exhibition, saying it played an important role in developing the cultural relations between Germany and Azerbaijan. Many visitors have visited the gallery to see Azerbaijan's modern art, not only on the opening day, but in the days following. According to the gallery management, the 'Fly to Baku' exhibition is the most visited exhibition of all the events conducted by the 'me Collectors Room' gallery. It was established during the observations that around 300 people daily visited the exhibition which run until November 17. This is a very high index for foreign exhibiters of contemporary art conducted in one of Berlin's galleries. German media also paid a lot of attention to the 'Fly to Baku' exhibition.
