Threaded Universes
The exhibition ‘Threaded Universes’ presents magnificent suzanis from Uzbekistan and filigree kelaghayis from Azerbaijan. These ancient textiles carry stories of protection, hope and the great cycles of life in their patterns – and at the same time wonderfully tie in with the symbolism and atmosphere of the Advent season. A varied programme awaits you at the grand opening: a musical performance, treasures from both countries and selected culinary specialities invite you to experience the cultural diversity of the Orient and Occident with all your senses. In this special atmosphere, you can enjoy the evening as the start of the pre-Christmas season with a glass of wine and get in the mood for an inspiring Advent season. We are grateful for the valuable cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani Cultural Centre in Berlin, which made this exhibition possible.
